It's an cheap Stylus SX415. So if it goes wrong don't expect any support. You'll have to deliver it to them. And if they can't fix it they don't replace with a new one but a reconditioned one. Epson have no ethical values. Buy a Canon instead

I bought this SX415 Printer as a replacement for an Epson 6050. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't as well built as my previous epson, and I have to agree with other reviewers that it is very noisy and clattery, especially when taking the paper.
However, the big plus point for me was that it works fine with Snow Leopard on my Mac, including scanning.
Anyone with a Mac who has Snow Leopard OSX will need to enable Rosetta first (can be found on the Snow Leopard installation disc) Then, get your printer ready to print by installing the inks etc. but don't connect to PC yet. Next go to the Epson UK web site, click "Support" and download the latest printer drivers for your machine. Only when these steps are complete do you then connect the printer to the PC. Following this sequence, you do not need to load the CD that came with your printer. If you're still not sure, Epson have an on line chat service with an advisor on their web site, and they can take you through the preferred sequence (which is where I got this info from). After I did all of this, my printer worked straight away with no problems, and believe me, it was very easy even for me and I'm a novice, having only had my Mac for a couple of months.
On the whole I am pleased with my purchase, but the build quality does leave a bit to be desired compared to the 6050.

I Buy Sx415 to replace a Lexmark, which was becoming extremely unreliable and had very expensive cartridges. Excellent value for money and very stylish. The only complaint I would have would be that on the initial feed in of paper it does make a very loud noise that sounds like heavy chains falling and, although I am expecting it, still makes me jump! Considering how quiet it is during the actual printing process and subsequent feeds of paper, I cannot work out why the first feed is so noisy!
However, having said that, the quality and speed of the printing is very good, the set up is easy and the cartridges much cheaper to replace individually or as a pack than my previous printer.
Please note though, this printer DOES NOT COME WITH A LEAD TO CONNECT IT TO YOUR COMPUTER, so if you are buying a printer for first time and choose this one, and not just unplugging a previous printer so you can use your existing cable (like I did), you will need to BUY A LEAD BEFORE YOU CAN PRINT!!!
This was excellent value for money and I am glad that I made the decision to buy, and thank all those for their honest reviews that allowed me to make an informed decision.

Havinghad previous Tom Tom's and for someone who travels over 40,000 miles ayear this is a must. The reason I went for this is the Live element ofthe unit. Not only will it advise of traffic hold ups in real time, themain reason I wanted to upgrade was for the speed camera info. AlthoughI had the speed camera info on my old 530 Tom Tom, this unit will alertyou to mobile camera's which the old one couldnt. The unit will havepaid for itself if it alerts me to one of those hidden mobile camera'son the road side! Plenty of other useful info on this unit, toonumerous to mention but definately one to go for if you are on the roadmost days of the week.

I'veused TomToms for years and find them to be the best SatNavs around. The500 is a compact unit that delivers a good performance and the HDTraffic feature is excellent for someone like me who does a lot ofdriving. However, I'd caution prospective buyers that the safety cameradatabase in the 550 model has a bug. This results in incorrect cameraspeeds being displayed (e.g. "19" when the camera speed should show"30"). TomTom have told me they are aware of the bug, but I have noidea when they are going to release a sofware update to remedy thefault.

Ibought this product about a month ago. Having got used to itsparticular terminology, I find that outright mistakes are not uncommon.Last night I would have ended up going in exactly the wrong directionif I had not basically known the route. When I find mistakes in my ownarea, I cannot use the device in unknown territory. The product is adisgrace. The website is opaque and difficult. Info from Support isplain wrong. Telephone support is not available weekends or weekdaysafter 6:30. My purchase of the Live services bundle is still notloaded, the first go having been foiled by a server error. My advice isto buy a GPS speed trap detector and a road Atlas. I will never buyanother TomTom product, and recommend potential purchasers not to makethe same mistake as me.

TheTom Tom 550 was worth waiting for. One problem with it at first was thePost Code entry did not work. This was soon put right by down loading apatch which corrected it and is now working very well.One other thing,it's to easy to turn of the sound by mistake which is not that easy toturn on again when on the move.Otherwise very good and would now not bewithout it.Great improvement on the earlier model.

Treatment

The blisters do not go away without treatment. The drug dapsone, taken by mouth, almost always provides relief in 1 to 2 days, but requires that blood counts be checked regularly. Especially great for travel...Stick one compact in your bag and you don't take up the whole tiny sink in a hotel or have to dig through bags for what you need.

As part of Jewish custom, it was also required that a menorah be lit every day. Although there was only enough oil to light the menorah for one day, somehow it lasted for eight days. This was the birth of Chanukah, or the Festival of Lights.

Outpatient Disc Treatment Gives Long-Term Back Pain Relief

A randomized, directed read comparing type cautious therapy to a minimally invasive treatment called percutaneous disc decompression for unpleasant herniated disc revealed that while both treatments help patients in the short-tempered run, only disc decompression kept patients pain free up to two years later. Discs are sponge-like cushions that rest in the middle of the bones of the spine. When a disc bulges or herniates outward, it can cause drag or constraint on the spinal nerves, resulting in a fitness known as sciatica. Sciatica is characterized by back and leg pain and weakness. Physicians often recommend that patients try six weeks of anti-inflammatory and pain medications before in view of other treatments.

"Most protocols call for a minimal near to initially treat a herniated disc," said Alexios Kelekis, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor of interventional radiology at the University of Athens in Greece. The first group, which received six weeks of strict conventional treatment consisting of analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants, reported pain lowering and improved mobility at the end of treatment. The second group underwent percutaneous disc decompression.

Upon completion of treatment, patients in both groups were clinically evaluated and completed a questionnaire designed to assess pain relief, quality of life and changeability improvement at intervals of three months, 12 months and 24 months later.

Both forebearing groups reported pain diminution and increased mutability at the three-month interval. However, one year and two years after treatment, patients who had undergone disc decompression prolonged to improve, while patients who received only traditional remedy reported that their pain had returned and their changeability had decreased.

"Up until 12 months next therapy, both groups of patients were doing great," Dr. Kelekis said. "But by 12 months beyond treatment, patients who received only conventional therapeutics had returned to their initial pain levels."

Percutaneous disc decompression is suitable only for herniated discs that are not ruptured or too compressed.

Hair loss can also result from being UNDERtreated...not being at the right TSH, or not taking the right drugs for you. My doctor believes that a TSH of on all sides 1 - 2 is optimal for most people to feel well and avoid having hypothyroid or hyperthyroid symptoms such as hair loss. (Note that these levels are kept lower for thyroid cancer patients to preclude cancer recurrence.) Second earthquake hits stricken Sumatra

529 confirmed dead and thousands feared trapped in rubble in western Indonesia as second quake strikes 180 miles from first

A second powerful earthquake has hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra, a day after the first devastating quake left more than 500 dead, thousands of people buried in rubble and a major city cut off from the outside world.

Today's quake, of magnitude 6.9, struck in the early hours about 180 miles from the epicentre of yesterday's more powerful tremor out at sea.

There were 529 confirmed deaths from the first quake, said relief officials, although the figure was likely to rise.

Indonesia's government dispatched rescue workers to the stricken region, while international aid agencies prepared to launch a major relief effort as tens of thousands of people spent a night in the rain after their homes were damaged.

The country's health minister, Siti Fadilah Supari, said: "I think it's more than thousands, if we look at how widespread the damage is. This is a high-scale disaster."

He said yesterday's quakes may have been more powerful than the Yogyakarta earthquake in Java in 2006, which killed 3,000 people.

In Padang, a city of 900,000, it was clear the authorities scarcely knew where to begin the recovery. There was no heavy lifting equipment to move the rubble under which hundreds more may be buried and soldiers were only just beginning to arrive in significant numbers.

"Help from the government is too slow," said Dodi, a resident who was queuing with thousands of others for petrol. "With gas, with medicines, with doctors, with the army. Many, many people are gone. They are dead. We need help."

People were sleeping on the street outside shattered homes or camping out at the airport. Even families whose homes stayed resolute in the face of the 7.6 magnitude quake were staying out of doors, fearful of aftershocks.

Many houses, though ramshackle, still stand. It is the large, public buildings, mostly those in the centre of town, that have been worst hit by the quake.

The rubble at the Dr M Djamil Hospital has not even begun to be sifted. Scores of bodies will emerge from it. Nasjid has waited at the hospital's ruins since early morning.

"I don't want to be here. I know my son is dead. But I cannot go home. I don't want to. So I just wait. But they tell me nothing. It is only bad news."

The Best Western hotel, the newest in the city, has lost its back half entirely and all its windows are blown out. A string of car showrooms along the main street – two and three storeys high, grand by Padang standards – are nothing more than rubble.

Yesterday's quake struck at 5.16pm, less than 24 hours after another deadly quake off the South Pacific island of Samoa. Its epicentre was reported to be about 30 miles offshore from Padang, at a depth of about 53 miles.

At least 500 buildings in the city collapsed in the quake. At least 80 people were missing at the city's five-storey Ambacang hotel, which also fell. Rescuers, working in heavy rain, found two survivors and nine bodies in the hotel's rubble.

The first emergency medical relief – a team of 40 doctors from Jakarta – was expected to reach the area today.

Rescue efforts have been hampered by the disruption of electricity and telecommunication lines, which have thrown Padang into darkness. Reports claimed all roads into the city were blocked by landslides.

Padang's airport was described as "inaccessible" by a pilot from the state airline who was forced to turn back. According to one report, the airport terminal roof had collapsed.

While most of the early attention has focused on Padang, concern was rising over the fate of towns and villages in the surrounding countryside. In the town of Maninjau, further inland, a resident, Hafiz, told local media he had watched houses being buried in a landslide when a hill collapsed.

The earthquake in Sumatra came 24 hours after a huge tsunami struck Samoa at dawn on Tuesday – triggered by an earthquake measuring between 8.0 and 8.3 – which also flattened villages and swept cars and people out to sea, killing at least 100 and leaving dozens missing. Survivors fled the churning water for higher ground on the South Pacific island.

Padang lies on one of the world's most active faultlines, which was responsible for the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami that killed more than 220,000 people on Boxing Day 2004.

Islamabad, Oct 30 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Punjab and North West Frontier Province in Pakistan Thursday night, a TV report said.

The quake occurred at 11.45 p.m.

The tremor was felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Swat and Dera Ghazi Khan, among others areas, Geo TV reported.

No further details were immediately available.

AND ISLAMABAD: A 5.0 magnitude shallow earthquake jolted northern Pakistani cities Friday, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, officials said.

The tremors were felt in several northwestern Pakistani cities, including Peshawar, and the capital Islamabad, at 12:46 pm, chief of Pakistan's meteorological department, Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry, told AFP.

The quake's epicentre was located near the northwestern town of Parachinar, some 160 kilometres west of Islamabad at a depth of 10 kilometres, he said.

A tribal administration official in Parachinar said residents rushed out of their homes but there were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.

The US Geological Survey registered the quake at 5.1, and said it was centred 87 kilometres southeast of the Afghan capital Kabul.

It was the second earthquake to jolt Pakistan in less than 24 hours. Late Thursday a 6.1 magnitude earthquake was felt in several Pakistani cities, but caused no casualties.

Northern Afghanistan and Pakistan are frequently hit by earthquakes, especially around the Hindu Kush range near the collision of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates.

A 7.6-magnitude earthquake in northwest Pakistan and Kashmir in October 2005 killed 74,000 people and displaced 3.5 million.

Back injuries are the most common cause of back pain. Injuries frequently occur when you use your back muscles in activities that you do not do very often, such as lifting a heavy object or doing yard work. Minor injuries also may occur from tripping, falling a short distance, or excessive twisting of the spine. Severe back injuries may result from car accidents, falls from significant heights, direct blows to the back or the top of the head, a high-energy fall onto the buttocks, or a penetrating injury such as a stab wound.

Although back pain is often caused by an injury to one or more of the structures of the back, it may have another cause. Some people are more likely to develop back pain than others. Perioral dermatitis

Perioral dermatitis is a common facial skin problem in adult women. It rarely occurs in men. It may occasionally affect children. Groups of itchy or tender small red papules (bumps) appear most often around the mouth. They spare the skin bordering the lips (which then appears pale) but develop on the sides of the chin, then spreading to include upper lip and cheeks. The surrounding skin may be pink, and the skin surface often becomes dry and flaky.

Often the skin around the nose is affected too, and sometimes that around the eyes (when it should more correctly be called ‘periocular’, or better still, ‘periorificial’ dermatitis.) Rarely, periorificial dermatitis may affect genital skin or the skin surrounding the anus.

The cause of perioral or periorificial dermatitis?

The exact cause of perioral dermatitis and/or periorificial dermatitis is not understood. Patients who are susceptible to perioral dermatitis tend to have an oily face, at least in the affected areas. The rash is probably induced by:

- Neglecting to wash the face with water, using soap or a soap-free cleanser.

- Face creams applied to the area bounded by the cheek folds and chin, or around the eyes in the case of periocular dermatitis. Moisturisers, cream cleansers, make-up foundation and sunscreens may all provoke perioral dermatitis.

-Topical steroid creams or ointments, which appear to be the most frequent cause. They are sometimes applied quite inadvertently, touched by the fingers that are treating another part of the body. The more potent the steroid cream, the more rapid and severe the perioral dermatitis which may result.

Recent research suggests perioral dermatitis may be related to proliferating bacteria and/or yeasts in the hair follicles.

Treatment

Luckily perioral dermatitis responds well to treatment.

- Discontinue applying all face creams including topical steroids, cosmetics and sunscreens.

Note: when a steroid cream is discontinued, the rash gets worse for a few days before it starts to improve. Do not apply face creams in the affected areas in the future, as the rash is very likely to reappear.

If you have to be outdoors during the summer months, choose a liquid, gel or light milk sunscreen.

- Wash the face with warm water alone while the rash is present. When it has cleared up, use a non-soap bar or liquid cleanser.

- Your doctor or dermatologist may also prescribe a course of oral antibiotics for six to twelve weeks. Normally tetracycline or one of its derivatives is recommended. Topical antibiotics such as erythromycin, clindamycin or metronidazole tend to be less effective. Azelaic acid may be of benefit, and can be used during pregnancy.

Perioral dermatitis sometimes recurs when the antibiotics are discontinued, or at a later date. The same treatment can be used again.
